Meet the Doctor

Dr. Schneider was raised in Taber, Alberta, Canada and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Alberta in 1993. Dr. Schneider received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery with Distinction in 1995 from the University of Alberta and then completed a hospital based General Practice Residency at University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

Dr. Schneider furthered his education by completing a six year residency specialty in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery in 2004. This involved obtaining his medical degree at Wayne State University Medical School and completing one year of General Surgery at the Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Schneider is board certified through the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He maintains memberships in the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Dental Association, and the Phoenix Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Arizona Dental Association.

Dr. Schneider had practiced in Detroit, Michigan for four years and then in 2007 he had the opportunity to go to Cuernavaca, Mexico for a craniofacial fellowship at a children’s hospital for 1 year. He was able to treat cleft lip and palate patients as well as patients with other facial defects.

In April 2009, Dr. Schneider moved to Phoenix and took over Dr. Michael Apfel Oral Surgery practice.

Dr. Schneider is married to Sharalee, a surgical dental assistant, who is currently working with him at the office. They are kept busy with their five children Jenna, 20 and Makayla, 17 who attended Horizon High School, Haylee,15 attending Desert Mountain High School and Aidan,12 and Mason, 9 who attend Sonoran Sky Elementary. The Schneider’s enjoy hiking, tennis and mountain biking and are happy to be in the Valley for the many opportunities and quality of life this area offers.

Locally, Dr. Schneider is active in his community with coaching soccer and baseball and is a Boy Scout leader. He likes to volunteer at the Arizona Mission of Mercy and also goes to Mexico with the Flying Samaritans.
